Vampire Yami Ch 47

The Hunters looked at each other, rather surprised.
“Hey, Rafael, this vampire surrendered on his own!” a tall young man with reddish hair and gray eyes said
“Indeed” said the man that was named Rafael, a tall, well-built man with blonde hair, pointy at the top and blue eyes.
He drew a jagged knife from his boot.
“Who are you?” he said to Yami
“I am the beast that has been terrorizing the city for so long, the one you have been searching for. I came here for you to give an end to my life!”
“Hey, Valon, it’s the guy that murdered your girlfriend!” the red-haired man said again loudly
Valon? Where had he heard that name before?
‘Probably she was with Valon again. You know how much she likes that guy…’ Yugi had said on the phone. He was speechless when he saw the tall, well-built man with the tame less brown hair and the bright, blue eyes he had seen the other time kissing Mai. Valon! So he was a Hunter!
“Indeed, Alister” he said drawing the cross-bow from his belt and pointing it towards Yami, “It’s an honor to meet you up close!” he said with a spark of hatred in his eyes, “now I’ll make you pay for everything you did to Mai and all your crimes!”
Yami remained still to his place as though he were a statue.  The Hunters were glaring daggers at him.
“What’s going on here?” another voice was heard
A tall and really well-built Hunter with short-cut brown hair and brown eyes approached them. On his right cheek he had a small yet deep scar
“Hi, boss!” Alister said without taking his eyes off Yami
“Who are you, vampire?” the brunette asked again with a slight Russian accent
“Nikolai, this is the vampire we’ve been looking for. He came here to surrender.” Rafael said
Nikolai smirked mockingly
“That’s weird” he said and drew out his gun
“I’ve already told you that it is me! That I did this! Now kill me!” Yami bellowed
For one brief moment his eyes glowed red. Nikolai laughed.
“Do you think it’s gonna be that easy?”
Yami was taken aback
“You’ve made so many people suffer and you think we will grand you a fast and painless death?”
Yami looked at him straight in the eyes with an icy glare.
“I think that Valon should be first… Valon, show him how it’s done!”
“With great pleasure!” Valon growled
Yami prepared himself to accept the blow. Valon shot him with his crossbow. The arrow cut through the air and got stabbed in Yami’s shoulder. Yami screamed in pain as the metal weapon pierced through his arm. The Hunters’ weapons hurt more. With one decisive move he pulled the arrow put of the wound and from it emerged fresh crimson blood. Again he simply looked at his executioners with a frozen glare.
“This was your last chance, vampire!” Nikolai said and shot him with his gun
This time the bullet hit him on the other arm. Before Yami had time even to breathe, Alister threw him a dagger that got stabbed in Yami’s left thigh and another that passed right next to Yami’s head, barely missing him and making a small scratch on his neck.
“Come on! Do something! Defend yourself!” Alister mocked him
Yami just pulled the dagger out of his leg and glared at them
“I think he learns with the hard way” said Rafael before raising his muscular arms two axes
He threw the one of the two, which barely missed Yami’s head and shoulder. Yami by instinct turned his head to see, and Rafael threw him the other axe, which got stabbed right into Yami’s back!
Yami sighed breathlessly and his eyes widened in pain so much that they seemed ready to pop out of their eye sockets…
“Come on! Do something!” now Nikolai mocked him
Yami felt the taste of blood in his mouth. A small trail of blood ran down his chin from his mouth...

Meanwhile Tea and Yugi arrived at a hill above the “battlefield”
“Yami!” Yugi screamed and he was ready to run to him but Tea held him
“Wait! The Hunters won’t show mercy to anyone who gets in their way! They will kill you! Human or Vampire!”
Another gunshot on Yami’s shoulder… Alister took the whip from his belt and started whipping the air.
“This whip is especially for vampires. It will leave a scar don’t you think?”
Yami just spat some blood. Alister whipped Yami on the back and Yami screamed loudly. Another bullet coming from Nikolai found him on the leg, another arrow (from Valon) found him on the shoulder blade.  A red mist started covering his eyesight. Alister’s whip kept falling on his flesh ragingly. Yami was staggering once towards the right and once towards the left… Bleeding…
Tea was covering her mouth with her hand in pure horror while Yugi was crying his eyes out, struggling to get free from her grip on his wrist…
Yami’s face was painted red with his own blood thanks to the wounds from the whip. His shirt was almost completely torn apart and full with stains of blood. The minor wounds might have already started to heal slowly however the more serious wounds were still there.
“He’s not resisting! It’s not fun this way!” Alister commented
“We’ll see about that!” Rafael said and rushed upon Yami with his grand knife
Started drawn dawning it ragingly causing deep cuts into Yami’s arms or legs while Alister kept whipping him… And then, suddenly, Rafael stabbed his knife into Yami’s stomach.
Yami let out a stewed moan of pain and his eyes almost popped out of their eye sockets at how much he widened them. His breath got cut as if his lungs had got flooded with his own blood. Rafael pulled his knife out. Yami staggered a few steps back, threw out blood and collapsed on the ground. Yami drew out a sword and span it in his hand while approaching and saying
“He’s not resisting at all! Let’s finish him off!”
He raised his sword in the air with the tip pointing down at Yami
“Goodnight vampire!”
“NO!” Yugi screamed at the top of his lungs and got between Nikolai and Yami with his arms stretched out to each side
“Get out of the way, boy!”
“I’m not leaving! This is my brother!” Yugi yelled in a shaking voice
Yami’s eyes opened as he was lieing on the ground and he looked at Yugi shocked. After all the things he had done, Yugi kept considering him a brother? Yugi was shaking all over in fear, however he didn’t move an inch! The Hunters burst out laughing.
“Brother?! Did he say ‘brother’?!” Alister laughed
“Yeah, I think that’s exactly what he said!” Valon laughed too
“Hold on! Do you think he is the boy that raven-haired vampire woman was talking about this morning?” Rafael said
“The Boy Who Survived?” the other two asked
“Hmm…” Nikolai mumbled in deep thought, “If that’s the case then he will survive from our weapons”
Yugi saw, shaking all over, Nikolai coming closer to him. Nikolai grabbed Yugi by the hair and threw him aside as if he were a rag-doll. Yugi cried out in pain. Nikolai raised Yugi by the collar and hit his small back against the wall. The small, scared teen felt his breath being caught by the impact of the hit
“Stop!” Yami growled huskily, “I am the one you want! Leave him alone!”
And he struggled to stand up again however his arms and hands didn’t even have the strength to raise the half of his body from the ground…so he fell down again.
Yugi was still breathing with difficulty with the back against the wall. Nikolai took a few steps backwards and drew a knife out of his belt. He prepared himself to throw it.
“Say goodbye…boy!”
Yugi closed his eyes shut waiting for the blow and Nikolai threw the knife.

The creepy sound of the knife being sunk into the flesh was heard. Tea gasped. Nikolai gasped. The Hunters gasped and somewhere else Ishizu opened her eyes and gasped.
Yugi opened his eyes slowly and when he did…he gasped too. Right before his eyes, shaking all over, with his eyes widened, was standing Yami with the knife stabbed in his heart.
“Yami!” Yugi screamed
A trail of blood ran between Yami’s legs. He tried to say something, or at least breathe however in the end he couldn’t do either. His entire body was shaking spasmodically. With shaking hands he got hold of the knife handle however he no longer had the strength to pull it out. He fell on his knees and finally collapsed with the face on the ground.
Yugi was completely frozen… He was feeling as if an iron hand was gripping his throat and world around him seemed to have started to spin. His stomach twisted.
“Did the vampire just protect the boy?” Nikolai mocked, “How ridiculous!”
He grabbed Yugi and all Hunters started leaving the spot. As if that woke him up, Yugi started struggling crying in Nikolai’s arms but with no result…
“Yami!” he screamed, “YAMIIII!”
His desperate cries echoed throughout the open space…
When everyone was gone, Tea leaped and ran to Yami. She turned him around so he was on his back and she half-raised him in her lap
“Yami…” she mumbled in a trembling voice
Yami half-opened his eyes weakly towards the sky…
“Yug…gi…” he whispered raising his hand pleadingly towards the sky as if talking to something invisible up there, “…my brother…I’m so sorry…”
His hand fell loose… His eyes closed…
